When do Comic-Con 2027 badges go on sale, and how much are they?

5 min read Checked September 29, 2026

Comic-Con 2027 runs Thursday–Sunday, July 22–25 (Preview Night July 21) at the San Diego Convention Center; this year's attendees get first shot on Saturday, October 17, 2026, and everyone else on Saturday, November 14 — you need a confirmed Comic-Con Member ID beforehand, and adult day badges cost $67–$88.

The short version

  • Dates: Preview Night Wednesday, July 21, 2027; the show runs Thursday, July 22 through Sunday, July 25.
  • Returning Registration (2026 attendees only): Saturday, October 17, 2026. Open Registration: Saturday, November 14, 2026.
  • 2027 adult prices: $67 for Preview Night and Sunday, $88 for Thursday–Saturday, plus a $15 handling fee per member; kids 12 and under free with a paying adult.
  • Buy all four daily badges and Comic-Con converts them to a 4-day badge automatically.
  • Sales use a randomized Queue-it waiting room; in the last open sale, each member could buy for up to three people, all with their own Member IDs.

Comic-Con badges sell out in minutes, and the sale happens eight or nine months before the show — so the real Comic-Con deadline is this fall, not next July. The most common way people miss out has nothing to do with luck: their Member ID isn't set up or they can't log in when the queue opens.

How the sale works

  1. 01

    Get a confirmed Member ID

Comic-Con: "Anyone who wishes to purchase a badge or register for Comic-Con must have a valid and confirmed Comic-Con Member ID." Everyone in your group needs their own.

  2. 02

    Test your login days ahead

Comic-Con's own advice is to make sure you know your password and can log in before sale day.

  3. 03

    Join the waiting room early

Last year it opened at 7:30 a.m. Pacific and the sale began at 9:00 a.m., when everyone inside was placed in a random order. Arriving earlier doesn't put you ahead.

  4. 04

    Buy fast when you're called

Selected buyers got 15 minutes to check out. Names must match each friend's Member ID exactly.

  5. 05

    Want all four days?

Buy Thursday through Sunday and they convert to a 4-day badge automatically.

Planning around the week

  • Book lodging early — downtown hotels near the Convention Center fill up for Comic-Con week.
  • The Trolley's Green Line and the Gaslamp stations are the easiest way in; from October 1, 2026, a one-way ride is $3.00.
  • COASTER-to-Amtrak Rail 2 Rail passes don't work during Comic-Con week (it was July 22–26 in 2026).
  • No badge? The Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park is adding convention-style panel programming (Times of San Diego, July 2026), and it runs outside convention week too.
