The short version

  • Most City of San Diego ZIP codes run from 92101 (downtown) to 92131 (Scripps Ranch).
  • La Jolla is 92037; Coronado, a separate city, is 92118.
  • Pacific Beach and Mission Beach share 92109; Bay Park and Old Town share 92110.
  • South of the bay, Otay Mesa is 92154 and San Ysidro is 92173.
  • Military bases have their own ZIPs; see our Navy base guide.

ZIP codes are mail routes, not neighborhood boundaries, so edges overlap and some neighborhoods straddle two codes. We placed a point in the center of each neighborhood and looked up which ZIP Code Tabulation Area it falls in using the Census Bureau's geocoder on Nov. 8, 2026. A "San Diego" mailing address doesn't always mean the City of San Diego; see city vs. county.

Looking up an exact address

Get it right for mail or forms

  1. 01

    USPS ZIP lookup

Enter the street address on usps.com for the official ZIP+4.

  2. 02

    County parcel lookup

For which city or tax district a property is in, the county assessor's parcel map is more reliable than the ZIP.

  3. 03

    Council district

ZIPs don't line up with council districts; use the city's district lookup. Example: District 2.
