Festivals and celebrations
- Lunar New Year: In 2026, the free San Diego Lunar New Year Festival in City Heights ran Feb. 13–15, with a separate Chinese New Year food and culture fair in the Gaslamp. SeaWorld and the Zoo hold their own celebrations; one listing puts SeaWorld's 2027 event at Jan. 31–Feb. 16.
- Mardi Gras: The Gaslamp's bar-crawl-style Mardi Gras and Cupid crawl ran Feb. 13–17, 2026 from 6 p.m. nightly at 20+ venues, with tickets from about $33. SeaWorld runs a Mardi Gras festival with Cajun food and live music most of January and February.
- Valentine's Day: Prix-fixe dinners, Cupid-themed skating at Gallagher Square in 2026, and the Coronado Valentine's Day 10K, 5K and 1-mile fun run.
Outdoors
